 The Speakeasy is in Limbo for the present; held at bay by the tyranny of small minds and weak wills in a town much smaller than it needs to be. Your City Council hopes to simply ignore our request for a hearing to deal with the outrageous behavior of one of their own. The media monopoly newspaper remains silent. However, The Speakeasy has awakened many to the plight under which we all suffer. The Left continues its mindless and tired attacks on the program.They do so anonymously with the aid of The Brainerd Dispatch. But many business leaders have contacted us with offers to help. We will be meeting with those business leaders to help procure a new venue in which to continue our work. We here enlist the inspiration of the great Bill Whittle, who graced us by being our very first guest, on our very first program.He was the first of scores of wonderful guests from around the world, all of whom continue to fight for our freedom. We scared the powers that be enough for them to react with all they have to offer: tyranny. That is ALL they have. And it isn't going to be enough. PICTURE YOURSELF IN ISRAEL

It is very easy to allow the normalcy bias we all operate under to blunt the news we hear every day. Take the time to watch this short video. The sound is primary. This shows no people being torn to bits, no families destroyed, no explosions. Just a sunny day in Ashdod, Israel. Sadly, it is their normal.

 Now picture in your mind what Israel would look like in Minnesota. It would stretch from roughly Bemidji to Redwood Falls, north to south. It would slowly arch from about nine miles wide at Redwood Falls to its maximum width of about 70 miles at Parker's Prairie. It would return to only about twenty miles wide at Bemidji. Across the street from Parker's Prairie would be Gaza. Hundreds of rockets would be flying in from there. Immediately south of Redwood Falls would be The Sinai, occupied by roving bands of Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood militias. Across the street from Bemidji would be Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon, armed to the teeth and also prepared to once again flood the country with deadly rocket fire, or worse. To the northeast, all the way to Lake Superior and the Arrowhead, lies Syria, awash in civil war and death on a ghastly scale. Hatred and violence surrounds you; and the President of the United States, for some very strange reason, likes the people across the street. But he doesn't like you. Have a nice day.

Andrew McCarthy, a frequent Speakeasy guest and the man who successfully prosecuted The Blind Sheik, Omar Abdel Rahman, was introduced to a press conference by yet another Speakeasy frequent guest, Frank Gaffney. It is well worth the 100 minutes to see how a man of courage and character lays out the hard truth, defends courageous Congressmen and Women, and swats off eternally adolescent mainstream media trolls like Dana Milbank, star of stage, screen and the Brainerd Daily Dispatch. Is it any wonder that local "associate editor" Mikey holds a grinning narcissistic twit like Milbank in such high esteem? Birdbrains of a feather flock together.

The Speakeasy was launched to bust the monopoly on news and opinion that leads so inexorably to the brotherhood of cronyism, arrogance and incompetence dominating our politics and weakening our culture. The elitist clique playing musical chairs in the councils, commissions and boards of our political and governmental structure has been imperiously dismissive of any criticism. It has ignored citizen exposure of clear wrongdoing. It has even gone out of its way to cover up gross misdemeanors, concocting thin veneers of legality that can’t withstand the light of day. The Speakeasy will be that light. The best disinfectant is sunshine, and we intend to roll back the clouds. We have had some good success. Ask around. The Weekly Reader hasn’t mentioned our name, but they know our name.

 We utilize local peccadilloes to shed light on how they lead to weakening of our culture statewide and nationally - same story, different faces. The Speakeasy brings in guests of unquestioned prominence and integrity. We even lean on the ghost of Ronald Reagan to keep things flowing.  Fortunately, he agreed to work for The Speakeasy gratis!  We hear from callers throughout the world, from Alpharetta, Georgia to Afghanistan, from West St. Paul to South Korea. Even from the mystical and exotic Leader Area, affectionately known as L.A. We also love our callers from that vast uncharted land called “Unorganized!”

We aren’t bragging, mind you, but a lot of folks claim we have the world’s finest bumper music, too! They just might be right!
